TERMS & CONDITIONS

1. General Health and Safety

  • Medical Fitness: All members must ensure they are medically fit to participate in physical activities before using any equipment or participating in training. If you have any health concerns, consult a healthcare professional.
  • Pre-existing Conditions: If you have a pre-existing medical condition (e.g., heart conditions, injuries, asthma), please inform gym staff before participating in any high-intensity or high-risk activities.
  • Physical Limitations: Members are advised to work within their own means, especially when using heavy gym equipment or engaging in strenuous exercises.
  • Health Risks and Injuries: Willclare Fitness Club does not assume responsibility for any health risks or injuries that may arise from the use of equipment or participation in activities. Members are encouraged to exercise caution and listen to their bodies.
  • Personal Training Advice: Members should seek guidance from our certified trainers when unsure about exercise form or appropriate workout routines. Misuse of equipment due to lack of knowledge is not the club’s responsibility.
  • First Aid: While first aid facilities are available on-site, the club does not provide medical assistance beyond basic first aid care. All emergencies will be directed to appropriate emergency services.

2. Use of Gym Equipment and Facilities

  • Cardio Equipment: Cardio equipment, such as treadmills, bikes, and rowers, should be used as per the guidelines provided on each machine. Members should limit use during peak hours to 20 minutes if others are waiting.
  • General Gym Equipment: Dumbbells, kettlebells, barbells, and other free weights should be handled with caution. Do not drop or misuse weights, as this can cause damage to equipment or injuries.
  • Strongman and Powerlifting Areas: Specific areas are designated for strongman and powerlifting activities. Members using these areas should ensure that they have appropriate training and should avoid lifting weights beyond their capability.
    • Powerlifting Safety: Members are encouraged to use a spotter when performing lifts like the bench press, squat, and deadlift.
    • Use of Proper Gear: Powerlifting-specific gear (e.g., belts, straps) should be used if required.

  • Boxing and MMA Areas: Members using boxing bags, gloves, or MMA equipment should have some training in the sport to prevent injury.
    • Sparring Sessions: Sparring is only allowed in designated areas and must be supervised by a qualified trainer. All participants must wear proper protective gear.
    • Respectful Behaviour: Members are to follow a no-contact policy unless in supervised sessions. Always show respect for training partners.
    • Usage: The cage is to be used only for training and sanctioned events. Unauthorized use is prohibited.
    • Safety: Users must follow all safety guidelines, including wearing appropriate gear and having supervision if required.

    • Liability: The gym is not liable for any injuries sustained while using the cage unless due to gym negligence.
    • Booking: The cage may need to be booked in advance, and there could be a fee for usage.
    • Insurance: Users must have personal insurance or be covered under the gym’s insurance policy.
    • Cleanliness: Users must ensure the cage is clean after use and report any cleanliness issues.
    • Rules of Conduct: Users must adhere to the gym’s code of conduct, including respect for other users and staff.

    • Disclaimer: The Willclare Fitness Club holds no responsibility for the use of the cage.

  • Equipment Hygiene: Members are required to clean and sanitise equipment after use, including wiping down cardio machines, free weights, mats, and any other used items. Disinfectant sprays and wipes are provided around the gym.
  • Timely Equipment Return: All equipment, including weights, bars, and mats, should be returned to their designated places after use. Do not leave items on the floor, as this poses a tripping hazard.
  • Use at Own Risk: Members are responsible for using all gym equipment at their own risk. Proper form and technique should always be prioritised to avoid injury.

3. Member Conduct and Respect for Others

  • Respect for Others: Willclare Fitness Club is committed to providing a positive environment. Any form of verbal or physical harassment, disrespect, or disruptive behaviour is not tolerated.
  • Noise Levels: Excessive noise, including loud grunting or dropping weights, should be minimised, particularly during busy hours.
  • Shared Equipment: During peak times, members should share equipment or allow others to “work in” between sets to ensure everyone has access.
  • Space Awareness: Please be mindful of other members’ personal space, especially in high-traffic areas like the boxing/MMA zone, strongman areas, and cardio sections.
  • Proper Attire: Members must wear appropriate workout attire, including closed-toe athletic footwear, when on the gym floor. Clothing that may be offensive or inappropriate is not permitted.
  • Mobile Phones: Use of mobile phones on the gym floor is permitted for training purposes only. Please do not make or receive calls in workout areas, as this can distract other members.

4. Responsibility and Liability

  • Assumption of Risk: Members acknowledge that they use the club facilities and equipment entirely at their own risk.
  • Damage to Equipment: Any damage to gym equipment resulting from misuse by a member may result in repair or replacement costs being charged to the responsible party.
  • Belongings and Lockers: The club provides lockers for member convenience but is not responsible for any personal belongings lost, stolen, or damaged within the premises.
  • Photography and Recording: Taking photos or recording videos of others without their permission is strictly prohibited.
